A unique experience hosted by Singer/Songwriter/Painter Kristen McNamara (KMAC), will have you walking away with a painting you are proud of, with an unforgettably eclectic experience, to say the least. You may recognize her from a few of your favorite television shows, but this rare and personalized class unlike any other around the world, gives you the opportunity to see behind the scenes. Taking a closer look through the eyes of not just an artist, but a true lover of Key West. Off stage, without being under the lights of showbiz, an intimate yet fun setting everyone is sure to enjoy. Nashville was home from 2003-2010 and she is now moved back to Music City.  After discovering Key West through the BMI Songwriter's Festival in 2010, Kristen fell in love with the people, and heartbeat of the 2 x 4 mile stretch of land 90 miles from Cuba. Determined to combine her love of music, art and tropical island life, she decided to claim the island as home when she is off the road from performing. Residing in a little conch cottage with her dog "Truffles" downtown near the corner of Duval and Caroline where she wrote her popular tune "Duval Street", she fits right in with the locals walking and riding her bike to her gigs. Kristen often writes and records from the island, landing a song she wrote earlier this year in the heart of Key West, on the television show "KillJoys" this summer on SYFY under the name "Roenin". Making her stamp as a modern Renaissance woman, she performs locally mostly at The Smoking' Tuna Saloon, has art displayed at places like Ocean Key, Sunset Pier, Island Dogs, Rum Bar, The Angelina Guest House, The Caribbean House, and more. Each piece of artwork has a song written by Kristen, to go along with it's story. Kristen continues to believe in the old artistic free spirit of Key West, and combines her creativity of music and art as her contribution to keeping the true authenticity of Key West alive and thriving, while educating the need of care for our community, oceans, sea life and reef. A 2 1/2 hour journey filled with music themed for the class, with a 15 minute intermission that includes a live acoustic performance by Kristen herself!  No formal schedule is available, due to her calendar and events from recording, performances and travel  for 2018. Classes are announced on our website and Facebook page as they are scheduled. We operate on a first come first serve RSVP required basis, so keep an eye out for the next class. If you're lucky enough to catch a class, be sure to book your spot.
